In the coming weeks the Administration will make final decisions on the President’s fiscal year 2014 budget request. Knowledge Alliance has requested that support for programs based on evidence and research be given strong consideration. Knowledge Alliance applauds the Administration’s efforts to drive more evidence-based programming, as outlined in the Office of Management and Budget’s May 18, 2012, “Memorandum to Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies” on demonstrating the use of evidence in development of their fiscal year 2014 submissions to OMB. In particular, we support an increased budget request above the FY12 enacted levels for the following Department of Education programs that are not only evidence-based, but drive the continued growth of an evidence base for many federal education programs.
