Statement | Applauding the President’s Budget Proposal for FY 2012
Knowledge Alliance Applauds the President’s Budget Priority for Education, and Emphasis on Research, Innovation and Improvement
Washington, DC (February 15, 2011) – Knowledge Alliance’s President Jim Kohlmoos spoke today on education funding in President Obama’s fiscal year 2012 budget proposal.
“We applaud President Obama’s strong budget proposal which recognizes K-12 education as an essential investment in our country’s future. The proposed investment will not only help shape the course of the next generation of learners but also enhance America’s global competitiveness and civic character for decades to come.
We also greatly appreciate the Administration’s emphasis on continuing to build a vibrant and dynamic research, development, and assistance infrastructure to stimulate innovation and improvement in our Nation’s schools. As the country faces new challenges worldwide, the need has never been greater to intensify, accelerate and sustain educational change through research and development.
Indeed it is time to unleash America’s ingenuity to solve our most pressing education problems, deliver break-the-mold solutions to our schools, and guide a new knowledge and innovation revolution in teaching and learning.
Knowledge Alliance looks forward to working with the Administration and Congress in a national call to action for education reform.
